The exhibition presents the artistic activities that emerge against the background of increasing cognitivization of reality. Among the participants there are both young artists and those who have already gained certain prominence. The common feature in the works of such artists as Igor Chirkin, Alexei Podkidyshev, Anastasia Ryabova, Ekaterina Pavlova, Anna Titova, Alexander Povzner, Katya Sivers is probably not the precise thematical unity, but rather an attention to their own method. This reflection on working techniques and conditions, considered as the basic principle, originates from reconsideration of the boundaries between documentary and fictive, between a digit and a metaphor. In terms of grammatical analogy, we may say that the method in the new art is not an adverbial modifier, but a subject. Thus social, aesthetical, epistemological positions are defined by the ways of using one or another sets of rules and artistic solutions.
